Unit 8

The two practices that I feel would be most beneficial in my personal life would be the Loving-Kindness practice and the Taste of Human Flourishing Visualization that we used this week in unit 8. The loving -kindness practice can be implemented in my life to help me developed a stronger mind by doing my best to practice this at least once a day; because this practice helps me think more positively I think if I start having negative thoughts about others or more so about myself then I need to stop what I am doing and go do this practice to remind myself to stay positive and to focus on that and not being negative. The visualization practice I can implement by using it as an assessment tool; I can revisit it about twice a month to help me remember my goals and what I am striving for and where I still need to improve whether it be in the happiness, wholeness, or health aspect of human flourishing.

  1. Hi Anna,

I truly believe since beginning this class that the attitude that we hold has an amazing effect on the rest of our lives. Once i took a step back and really pushed a positive outlook onto the required exercises I got much more out of them. I am finding this to be true in all different aspects of my life now. Once I put a positive spin on all different aspects I was able to find a way to accomplish things that I once thought impossible.

    Thanks!

  2. I like how you talked about being positive about yourself along with others. It is so easy to let negative thoughts in and more often then not the negative thoughts are about ourselves. I like how you talked about stopping what you are doing to get your thoughts back to positive. Not always the easiest thing to do but something that is so important. Meditation is something that I really enjoy and feel that it is something that is great to get centered with. I hope that you are able to reach your goals!
